BMI is expecting strong growth in new car sales in Zambia over the coming five years. However, this growth is coming from a very low base, with BMI estimating that only 2,639 new vehicles were sold in the southern African country across 2012. Moreover, even after the rapid 135% growth we expect in new car sales over the end-2012 to end-2017 period, Zambian new car sales will only amount to just over 6,000 by 2017.
